West Village Bank Building Gains New Tenants

3 women-run businesses under one roof

If you're looking for creativity in how to use an old space, look no further than the corner of Van Dyke and Kercheval. We've followed this building for a while and we're now happy to report on the businesses and tenants who call it home.

On the main floor in the front, Detroit Body Garage just opened its doors. Run by former professional triathlete Terra Castro, the gym will offer classes ranging from boot camp to mechanics to yoga. Their grand opening was this past weekend and the yoga class had 40+ participants. On warmer days, you might also see them working out around the corner at Fisheye Farms.

In the back, you'll find Goodness Gracious, a flower shop opened earlier this winter. Kelley Jones, the owner, was recognized in the mayor's state of the city address this year. Kelley's father worked in the bank branch when she was growing up and now she owns a business in the same building.

Next to Goodness Gracious will be Brix Wine & Charcuterie, owned by Mikiah Westbrook, which will open sometime this summer.

Upstairs, you'll find a two units, one residential and one being leased to Concept 56, sponsored by Jägermeister. The group of young creatives is working on planning a soon-to-be announced event this summer and will be in the space through July.

As the weather warms up, the porch on the side will turn into a patio shared by the businesses.

This is right down the street from the redevelopment next to Sister Pie, which will house Village Parlor and Geiger Eat Shop.
