The stadium’s new bread-free sandwiches are built differently

The Tigers' home opener takes place in Detroit on Friday, April 4, when the Tigers play against the Chicago White Sox. Regardless of who wins, fans are rewarded for showing out with a refreshed food and drink menu from Tigers’ food and beverage partner Delaware North Sportservice.

Comerica Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary and with that, the Tigers have rolled out several improvements that they’re hoping will improve the ballpark experience. Upgrades include improved Tiger Den seating, semi-private loge box seating, and the installation of the Tigers Home Plate Club VIP area behind home plate with 350 luxury seats equipped with heating and cooling abilities, with plans for a bar and restaurant situated underneath the stadium. Expected to be completed this summer, Home Plate Club and loge-box ticket holders will have exclusive access to the space. Take note that access to this section comes at a price. According to the Detroit News, seats in the Tigers Home Plate section start at $200 a game, or $16,200 for the season.

As for food and drink options, Delaware North Sportservice continues to pay homage to metro Detroit’s dining scene, with a variety of local favorites, from juicy smash burgers and hefty barbecue sandwiches to bread-free jerk chicken and mango sandwiches wrapped in leafy greens. Here’s what Comerica Park has to offer for the 2025 season.

New Menu Options

Here’s what’s new for 2025 at Comerica Park.

Smash Burgers: Comerica Park has gone all in on the smash burger hype and has partnered with Fraser-based Fairway Packing, which unveiled a smash burger at nearby Little Caesars Arena in time for the current Red Wings season. The folks at Fairway worked with Delaware North to come up with a proprietary blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck. Each smash burger features two super thin patties, along with American cheese, diced onions, and special sauce, all on a Martin’s roll. [Where to find: Big Cat Court, Section 119]

Chickpea Power Bowl: Rice, chickpeas, tabouleh, garlic sauce, hummus, and pita chips, with an add-on chicken option. Available at the Shawarma section. [Where to find: Big Cat Court, Section 119]

Slows Bar BQ: Corktown stalwart barbecue spot Slows is getting more of a presence in the stadium this year by offering its line of popular sandwiches. Selections include the Reason, with pulled pork in Slows North Carolina barbecue sauce, slaw, and dill pickles; the Yardbird with smoked chicken, applewood smoked bacon, sauteed mushrooms, and cheddar; and Put Me In Coach, made with shredded brisket in Kansas City-style barbecue sauce. [Where to find: Section 149]

Breadless: Detroit-based Breadless is rolling out a new menu featuring its selection of bread-free sandwiches wrapped in leafy greens. Choose from several options, including: jerk chicken with peach mango salsa and wrapped in Swiss chard; turkey with an avocado spread and champagne vinaigrette; smashed falafel with spicy aioli and pickled turnips; and a Southwest rice bowl, available with a choice of proteins, like oven-roasted or jerk chicken, falafel, or house-braised beef. [Where to find: Section 140]

Motor City Melt: Grilled cheese lovers may fall hard for this one, featuring fried mozzarella sticks, housemade marinara, and provolone — all sandwiched within two pieces of sourdough garlic bread. [Where to find: Blue Moon Bistro, Section 151]

Food Trucks: A rotation of locally-operated food trucks will be available during select homestands, including Lobster Food Truck, and others, which will be announced later in the season.

Happy Hour

The Miller Lite Home Run Happy Hour takes place during the first hour after gates open of every home game on Comerica Landing. Patrons can expect $5 water, $3 peanuts and hot dogs, and specials on 16-ounce beers. [Where to find: Throughout the concourse; Blue Moon Bistro near Section 151; and the Chevrolet Pavillion Bar, also near Section 151]

Stadium Party Areas

Comerica Park has several options available for parties by reservation: party plazas and party decks. Three plaza options are available above the Big Cat Court behind section 321 and include Upper Reserved Infield seats and a picnic buffet. The three party decks are behind sections 210, 212, and 214. Both options include meal packages of hot dogs, boneless chicken wings, Little Caesars pizza, vegetable spring rolls, potato chips, Pepsi products, and water.

Stadium Dining by Location

Comerica Bank Big Cat Court: This food court features most of the stadium’s dining selections in a central location with a variety of stands featuring pizza from Little Caesars, National Coney Island, elephant ears, ice cream, fries, burgers, and frozen daiquiris. [Gate A, near Section 119]

Tiger Den Lounge: This space features an a la carte menu and themed bar areas and is accessible for visitors with a Tiger Den ticket, On Deck Circle ticket, MotorCity Casino Hotel Tiger Club/Den Access Pass, Suite Holder Card, or Jim Champions Club Card. Enter off the main concourse behind Section 313 or through a private entrance on Montcalm Street. This area is available for private party rentals. [Section 131]

Blue Moon Bases Loaded Bar: The Upper Deck lounge features an air-conditioned and heated seating area, complete with a bar that’s open to the public. It offers bar snacks, draft and bottled beers, and liquor. [Section 330]

Tiger Club: This is an option for fancier drinks and a buffet, but the access is restricted to members only, so it’s not a viable option for most fans. This space is available for private parties. [Enter at corner of Witherell and Elizabeth Street]

Michigan’s Craft Beer: Find a range of the usual ballpark suspects here, from hamburgers to chili cheese fries and chicken fingers, alongside draft beers, sodas, and shakes. [Section 104]

Nacho Kiosk: Find two styles of nachos here alongside hot dogs and Italian sausages. [Section 116]
