From Vietnamese to San Francisco sourdoughs to Afro-Caribbean, here are some of Ann Arbor’s latest new restaurants

The Ann Arbor restaurant scene is still as vibrant as ever, so why not try someplace new?

Two new bakeries make the list and offer distinctly different interpretations of pastries: Q Bakery‘s innovative blending of East and West, and Bird Dog Baking’s traditional sourdoughs made with 100 percent local ingredients. Keeping with the theme of distinctly different interpretations are Azalea’s modern Asian small plates and Palace Tang’s traditional hot pot, both of which are terrific opportunities for communal dining with friends. Two noteworthy reboots make the list as well: Blue LLama’s menu that connects jazz and food through their mutual Afro-Caribbean roots and Lake Forest Golf Club’s new outdoor space is an inviting with gorgeous views.

Here are 11 of the Ann Arbor area’s newest, most exciting restaurants to check out now.
