Opening Day 2023 in Detroit takes place Thursday, April 6, and for Tigers fans, there’s a plethora of food and drink options — both inside the ball park and throughout downtown. This year’s Detroit Tigers season opener took place March 30 at Tampa Bay versus the Rays, followed by a road trip this week in Houston where they’re facing the Astros. On Thursday, the team will benefit from home team advantage when they face off against the Boston Red Sox at 1:10 p.m. Comerica Park.

The Tigers organization unveiled its new food and drink lineup for the 2023 season on March 31, featuring even more local favorites, including bacon-wrapped hot dogs and tacos from Taqueria el Rey, sliders from Green Dot Stables, and a rotation of pop-up options like the Lobster Food Truck, Breadless, and Yum Village.

In addition to the many stadium finds and restaurant and bar offerings that abound in the area downtown just outside of Comerica Park and the many options of nearby Corktown, be sure to be on the lookout for specials throughout the surrounding area. From takeout boxes of Mom’s Spaghetti and Cuban-style burgers, there’s a lot to catch up on before and after the big game.
