Plus, guest chefs at the historic Schvitz bathhouse

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy has lined up 60 food trucks and six music stages for this weekend’s Detroit Harvestfest and Food Truck Rally on the Dequindre Cut.

For adults, there’s a beer and wine garden at the Dequindre Freight Yard with an adult costume contest; trick or treating and a pumpkin patch are planned for the kids. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person. Children 17 and younger get in free. The Dequindre Cut is located between Orleans Street and St. Aubin Street and runs from Mack Avenue to Atwater Street. The event footprint runs from Woodbridge Street to Wilkins Street on the Dequindre Cut.

Mekong Mondays at the Schvitz

Detroit’s historic Schvitz bathhouse is open to the public again, with a series of culinary pop-ups and guest chefs on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, including Mekong Mondays with Vietnamese food from Tieng Truong and family.

Join the feast from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on alternate Mondays, including Oct. 11 and 25. Call or visit the website for the schedule.

Whiskey Business

Farm to Farm Table

Detroit Farm and Cider, the city’s only cider mill, has launched its first full season with a series of weekly Saturday night farm-to-table dinners on the property.
