The city of Madison Heights is hoping to drum up some business for local restaurants next week with the introduction of its first-ever restaurant week. The metro Detroit town, known for its high concentrations of international restaurants and markets, is working with local establishments to promote six days of dining specials from Sunday, September 20 through Saturday, September 26, per a release.

“What most people don’t realize is that Madison Heights is the most global dining town in Oakland County,” Ricky Dong, owner of 168 Asian Mart and Fuji Buffet in Madison Heights, says in a statement.

Many of the participating restaurants are offering both dine-in and carryout specials in consideration of the fact that people are eating out differently during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The list includes spots like hot pot restaurant Lao Pot, Cadillac Straights Brewing Company, Ima Madison Heights, Shawarma Castle, and Woodpile BBQ Shack.
