Andiamo Owner Brings a French-American Bistro to Downtown Detroit Next Year #DetroitFood
The Statler Bistro is scheduled to debut in January 2021
Joe Vicari Restaurant Group, the company behind the Andiamo chain and Joe Muer Seafood, is slated to bring a new French-American bistro to a downtown Detroit development in early 2021. The Statler Bistro is slated to open on the first floor the City Club Apartments development at Washington Boulevard and West Grand River Avenue in January, per a release.
The restaurant’s name is a tribute to the former Statler Hotel that was located at the site. It’s expected to seat 175 people with “a European flair” to its design and a large outdoor patio. The restaurant will also feature a market selling groceries and packaged meals, a growing trend among restaurants in the downtown district that’s taken on more significance during the pandemic.
The Statler Hotel was flattened in 2005 ahead of the Super Bowl, according to Curbed Detroit. City Club Apartments-CBD Detroit project broke ground with golden shovels in 2018.
