Tyler Clifford - The University of Detroit Mercy has received $4.5 million in endowments from two alumni, the university announced Thursday. Bernard Schlaff, who graduated in 1944 from the former University of Detroit, passed away in 2015 at 95 and left $3 million in his will to establish a scholarship for engineering students.
