Tyler Clifford - The number of unpaid bills in most Michigan hospitals plummeted since the state expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act in 2014, according to a new University of Michigan study. The study conducted by researchers from the UM Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation showed that of the 88 hospitals reporting 2015 data in full to the state, unpaid bills dropped by about half.
