Brooks Patterson has taken a more than 7-point lead into the evening in his bid to serve another term as Oakland County's executive, seemingly staving off Democratic challenger Vicki Barnett, according to unofficial election results. Before Election Day numbers started coming in, the 77-year-old Republican who has held his job for more than two decades, said he was confident about the evening's outcome during a campaign celebration at Heroes in Waterford Township, just south of his office.
