If you’re entertaining at home on November 24, Detroit-area restaurants are here to take away some of the work. Below find a guide to some of the Thanksgiving ordering and takeout options available right now. Take special note of cutoff dates for pre-orders. Eater Detroit will be regularly updating the list as new options become available. - The Pink Flamingo (Vermont Street, between Temple and Spruce in Corktown, Detroit) — Chef Meiko Krishok and her team from Guerrilla Food are offering a full Thanksgiving meal for takeout. Many options are vegan and gluten-free. The cost is $35 per person, which includes on main, four sides, one dessert and cornbread; for 4+ people the price is $30 per person. The menu features a choice of turkey (pastured, from Gunthorp Farms) or a stuffed pumpkin, a wide choice of sides including collard greens roasted brussels sprouts, and handmade desserts such as sweet potato pie and whole wheat spiced date cake. Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. on November 18th by responding to this email.
- The Farmer’s Hand (1701 Trumbull Avenue, Detroit) — This Corktown market is offering locally-raised turkey for pre-order. Customers can get a GMO-, hormone-, and antibiotic-free, all natural free-range turkey from Biehl Turkey Ranch in Mancelona, Michigan, for $3.75 per pound. The shop is also offering a very limited number of heritage birds from Harnois Farm in Ann Arbor for $16 per pound.
- CAYA Smokehouse Grill (1403 S. Commerce Road, Wolverine Lake) — Pick up all your Turkey Day essentials at this Southeast Michigan eatery. CAYA is offering meals featuring smoked turkey breasts, roasted drumsticks, roasted thighs, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie. Get servings for 8 to 10 guests for $150; 12 to 15 guests for $225 , and 18 to 20 guests for $300. Additional pies are $9 each. Custom menus are also available. - Big Rock Chophouse (245 South Eton Street, Birmingham) — Order Thanksgiving to-go from Big Rock Chophouse. Meals will serve 8 to 10 guests. The restaurant is offering locally sourced Amish turkeys and sides including sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry relish, gravy, focaccia and a pumpkin pie. Additional sides, desserts, and packs of wine are also available for purchase. Order a meal with an oven-ready turkey for $275 or get a cooked and carved turkey for $300. Orders must be placed by November 20 and picked up at the restaurant on November 23 between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Call 248-647-7774 or order online.
- Sister Pie (8066 Kercheval Street, Detroit) — Time is running out to place your pre-orders for pie at Sister Pie. Get a 9-inch cranberry crumble for $30 or a 9-inch buttermilk pumpkin streusel for $28. Order online.
- Avalon International Breads (422 W. Willis, Detroit or 4731 Bellevue, Detroit) — Cass Corridor favorite Avalon is offering Dutch apple, mixed berry, pumpkin, and pecan pies for pre-order. The cost is $18 to $20. Order online and choose a pickup location and date.
- Sweet Potato Sensations (17337 Lahser Rd., Detroit) — This Old Redford restaurant and pastry shop is accepting orders for holiday desserts (cakes, pies, and more). Call 313-532-7996.
- Lush Yummies Pie Co. (19120 Grand River Avenue, Detroit) — Choose from a selection of pies and cakes at this pie pop-up in Grandmont Rosedale. Flavors include lemon butta pie, sweet potato pie, lemon-sweet potato pie, and salted caramel cake. Prices run between $20 and $55. Order online and pick up in the shop between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on November 22.
- Love’s Custard Pie (10040 W McNichols Rd, Detroit) — Love’s Custard Pies is currently taking orders for holiday desserts. Call 313-748-2654.
- Good Cakes and Bakes (19363 Livernois Ave, Detroit) — Place your orders for cakes, cheesecakes, pies, and vegan desserts by November 22 at this bakeshop on The Avenue of Fashion. Prices range from $15 to $45 depending upon the dessert. Pick up orders by November 24 at 4 p.m. Call 313-468-9915.
- Slows To Go (4107 Cass Avenue, Detroit) — Order a takeout Thanksgiving package from Slows now through November 20. The menu includes smoked boneless turkey breast, smoked turkey leg, mac and cheese, pit smoked baked beens, cranberry BBQ sauce, and more. The package feeds six to eight people for $130 plus tax. Pick up on November 23 or November 24 or get your order hot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for $20 more. Additional add-ons are available. Call 877-569-7246.
