Michigan wins OK to spend federal funds on lead abatement #DetroitNews
Associated Press - LANSING — The Obama administration has approved Michigan's request to spend nearly $24 million annually for five years to eliminate lead hazards from the homes of low-income residents in Flint and other communities. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced its decision Monday. It allows for an amendment to Michigan's Children's Health Insurance Program in the wake of Flint's water crisis. Michigan would contribute about $330,000 in state money this fiscal year toward $23.
