From Indian food to all-day brunch and build-your-own lemonades

Eastern Market is Detroit’s quintessential food hub, where each weekend, tens of thousands of metro Detroiters make their way to its iconic sheds for all manner of produce, prepared foods, meat processors, garden starters, and every May, Flower Day.

The beloved event went on a bit of hiatus from its regular programming during the pandemic, but this year it’s make a triumphant return on Sunday, May 15. In addition, Flower Season Tuesday Markets on May 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31, featuring flower selections from Eastern Market growers and smaller crowds, and easier parking.

The century-plus outdoor market district is also known as a dining and drink destination, with a growing number of all-day brunch spots, bars, breweries, distilleries, creative dinner menus, and even a winery.

From smoked meat sandwiches to crispy pistachio cannoli to craft beer, here’s where to eat and drink in Eastern Market this season.
