The 38 Essential Restaurants in Detroit, Fall 2018 #DetroitFood
Where to find salt and pepper shrimp, lobster udon, and Detroit-style pizza
It’s time for the summer 2018 edition of the Detroit Eater 38. The 38 is Eater’s answer to that age-old question, “Can you recommend a restaurant?” This quarterly list seeks to identify the city’s key dining establishments (with a few representatives from the suburbs). Eligible additions may have been overlooked in the past, might have recently stepped up their game, and must have been open for at least six months.
Longtime members Public House, Avalon International Breads, and Dime Store are leaving the map this month to make way for Asian Corned Beef, Chef Greg’s Soul-N-the Wall, and El Rey de las Arepas. Here, now, are 38 essential restaurants that represent the city’s flavor, history, and style.
