Just Detroit News | Dangerously Delicious Pies Eyes Midtown for Brick-and-Mortar #Detroit #JustDetroit
A food truck will roll into Detroit later this summer
Longtime 3rd Street Bar pie outfit Dangerously Delicious Pies has big expansion plans. Last month the company opened a brick-and-mortar storefront in downtown Wyandotte, but as Metromode first-reports Dangerously Delicious Pies is also pursuing a dedicated pie shop in Detroit and building out a food truck.
Eater reached out to co-owner Sam Wood for more details on the move. "We have actually found a space in Midtown that we’re looking into," he says. Dangerously Delicious Pies has a good relationship with 3rd Street and hopes to make a "smooth transition" by continuing to operate out of the bar up until the opening of the Detroit restaurant, possibly later this summer, Wood adds. The lease is expected to be finalized later this month.
Dangerously Delicious Pies also has a food truck in the works, which is currently undergoing repairs. The mobile pie shop is expected to roll into Detroit this month and could hit the streets by the end of the summer.
In the meantime, the Wyandotte location has attracted a huge volume of interest from locals. "It’s crazy. We’re having trouble keeping up with it," Wood says, noting that most customers have been tipped off to the small 20-seat pie shop through word-of-mouth. On Monday the shop expanded hours to 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. seven days a week. Stay tuned for more updates on the Detroit location.
